A compilation of many different devices with some nice surprises in the way you’ve made them work. 7d with its combined letter selections was an example of this, with the surface also evoking a classic fairy tale marvel. Thanks Kempley for a good set of clues with my top picks being 11a, 12a, 13a, 8d, 20d, and 23d. I found this mostly gentle but I did reveal 24a; the answer was a familiar word but the clever wordplay didn't occur to me.
