Cryptic crossword No 3,234

Thanks, Primus. I particularly enjoyed 10a, 28a, 21d. I hadn't heard of 29a but got it as it was fairly clued. A couple of other NHOs I didn't get: 9a & 17d. I've got a couple of observations in the reply.

I left this unfinished because of reasons but so glad I came back to it. I think it’s a brilliant puzzle! Loved the theme and the way you worked it in - the subtext in 17d was superb. Almost every clue worked perfectly for me with some great surfaces. My pick of the bunch: 10a, 15a (taught me new ‘advanced’ indicator), 12a, 28a (🤣) 29a, 30a, 8d, 17d!! Thanks Primus!
