Hi Gennaro, very enjoyable puzzle as usual. The hidden idiom perhaps constrained the grid a little but you found a good set of words to fill it out. Almost all went in smoothly but slowed down but a few unfamiliar synonyms for tenant and clownish early on. I particularly like the snappy 18d and 20d but other favourites included 4d, 2d, 14a and 19a. Cheers

You're early! Weekend off to a flyer, thanks! Nina came in at the last minute to unlock the last two, including the lynchpin. Faves include: 11a, 13a,19a,2d,3d,15d,16d

At no point did I feel 14a! It was 1,2,3 and away round the track, with a generous helping of easy ones scattered throughout. Altogether very slick and enjoyable, with particular faves being 19a, 2d, 9d, 17d. Small thoughts below…

Thanks, Gennaro. Liked this - particularly 19a, 23a, 4d, 15d and 17d (you were on a roll in the SW corner!).

For once, Gennaro, I've even beaten you to the comments! Another neatly done puzzle and, yes, the trademark nina was helpful in polishing off the last few. Same head scratchers as Sisyphus - though the first two, I have met before albeit rarely. The clownish person was a synonym for an Indy setter a tad before I started solving it. Faves inc 14a, 23a, 26a, 4d, 16d, 17d and 21d. Thanks. PM

Definitely a winner! I enjoyed this and found it slightly easier than your usual offerings with a nice mix of clever constructions. 8d NHO (heathen!) My favourites 12a, 23a (that threw me, I was expecting grits or waffles!), 4d, 16d, 18d, 21d, thanks Gennaro

I echo the crowd Gennaro - very nice, and as a personal bonus, I was able to complete it without any hints or checks (thanks, hidden idiom) though I did misparse 17d, a clue I appreciated more after the fact. Many favs, such as 14a, 19a, 23a, 1d, 4d, 9d, 20d. Thanks again for an excellent crossword.

Very good Gennaro, thanks. I solved this a couple of days ago but have only now got round to commenting. A steady solve despite a few obscurities (as per Sisyphus’s comments). Favourites were 14a, 22a, 23a, 4d, 15d and 16d.
