I figured what it must be about, but it took an embarrassingly long time to actually "see" it. Faves 1a,9a,16a,19a,30a and 1d,5d,7d,18d. There were a few I was amazed to get, as a non-Brit.

And one I still do not grasp, even though I solved it: 15d
