Very enjoyable puzzle with great surfaces! I particularly like 14a and 26a and the spoonerism is interesting! Other favourites 1a, 9a, 12a, 13a, 16a, 19a, 24a, 16a, 4d, 15d, 16d, thank you

Thanks and welcome Wildvale - I particularly liked 12a, 28a, and 20d. Lots of nice touches elsewhere, including in 14a and 9d.

Thanks Wildvale. I liked a bunch of these, especially 29a, 21d, 22d. NHO 15d but that's on me. More in reply . . .

If this is your first, I bow in admiration! Particular favourites 11a (I always like an excruciating Spoonerism!), 14a, 26a, 29a, 2d, 8d, 9d (quite superb) and 15d. Two things I particularly like are that your clues are concise, and your surface readings are good (something with which a lot of professional setters seem to struggle). Minor comments in reply

Thanks Wildvale for a remarkable debut on MyC. I enjoyed this with my top picks being 10a, 16a, 19a, 27a, 28a, & 20d. Areas for improvement have been well covered by Amoeba. Looking forward to your next one.

Congrats on your first puzzle Wildvale and I'm sorry it has taken me a (busy) week to get around to it. A very nice first effort which credible surfaces, largely succinct cluing and a good range of devices. Faves inc 10a, 23a, 26a, 28a, 4d, 20d and 22d. Thanks. PM

Excellent stuff, W!! Thoroughly enjoyed this, but held up for ages by 19a. The Spoonerism is one of the most outré I’ve seen in a very long time. People have gained reputations for less than that . . .
