For a while, this was going to be quickest Fez in some time. Then I ran into problems with the last two or three. You have given us a lot of fodder in plain site with this one. As Arkhipov comments, particularly nice surfaces. Frankly, too many good 'uns to compile a meaningful shortlist: maybe a podium of 10a for the laugh; 26a for the surface and 24d for the construction. Thanks Fez. I found this tough & I revealed 35a, 13d, 17d, & 24d. I enjoyed a good bit, however, including 1a, 18a, 23a, & 21d.

Great stuff, Fez. I echo Arkipov's sentiments -- sometimes the surfaces on their own are worth enjoying without even jumping into the solving part. Many favs, some of which were 9a (simple & good), 12a (neat), 18a & 19a (showing how simple can be good), 34a (interesting), 35a (fun to solve, but shame on me for not picking up the theme), and various cool down clues including 21d and 31d.
